A profound apology to our faithful friends... (11/26/2008) I would like to extend a profound apology to our faithful friends in our community. We have had some major hardware issues in the past few weeks that have left the site almost unusable. We tried to upgrade to a new technology that is supposed to allow us to handle a lot more traffic more efficiently and give you a better experience.
What it ended in was a very odd feeling of unreliability. The site was available to some and not available to others. It worked for comcast customers, but not qwest dsl. Needless to say, we take our availability to the community very seriously. I personally, have been pulling my hair out and staying up very late until we found a solution to the problem.
In the end, we backed out the new technology and will implement a different path, which will still give us the reliability along with the availability you have come to expect.
Thank you for sticking with us, and I think you'll find the service is much more reliable from here on out!

System back up and running (11/6/2008) Thanks for being patient. We had a little bit of a hardware failure with hard to find parts. Long story short, we're back in business!!
Live chat discontinued (10/2/2008) Just a quick note. We've discontinued the live chat module on the site. We've decided it kind of duplicates the forums and with the re-write of the forums as good as they turned out, there really is no need to duplicate features. Focus all public notices, news releases and other great discussions to the message board/forum areas. We'll see ya there!
GAMES! The new and improved word searches are here, and online. Make sure the latest JAVA engine is installed (www.java.com) and then click on the game you would like to play. We have arcade games, and for those of us with more time, a great little word search. Try it out.

W.S. Kiwanis 62nd Annual Pancake Breakfast - West Seattle Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. An annual tradition in West Seattle for decades. Join us at the Alki Masonic Building (click for map 4736 40th Ave SW) from 7am to 11am on Sat. Dec 6, 2008. Tickets (206) 938-8032 $5 for adults ($6 at the door), $3 for children under 13. A free photo with Santa for kids under 13 and adults are only $1. local Choir performances. Toys for Tots and new disposable diaper collection on site. Proceeds go to community and child services of the Kiwanis Club of West Seattle.
